Thomas Sebastian Jensen

A developer, with a habit of exploring

My name is Thomas Sebastian Jensen, but almost everyone calls me Sebastian. I grew up in Kiel, on Germany’s Baltic coast, and later moved to Pforzheim. I’ve been building apps since the Windows Phone days, and that curiosity has followed me across platforms ever since.

Today, I’m a Senior Software Engineer and Team Lead at medialesson GmbH and a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP). My work spans mobile apps, web applications, software architecture, and cross-platform development. I enjoy the whole process: understanding a problem, building a useful solution, and improving it as I learn.

From Kiel to cross-platform software

I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Computer Science at Kiel University, completing my master’s in 2013. I also earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and explored economics, mathematics, and education along the way. Different perspectives have always helped me think more clearly about software and the people who use it.

My first apps were for Windows Phone in 2010. These days, I work across Windows, iOS, Android, and the web. C# and .NET are at the heart of much of what I build, alongside ASP.NET Core, Blazor, .NET MAUI, Avalonia UI, and Azure. I also enjoy exploring Swift and SwiftUI, practical AI tools, and automation with GitHub Actions.

Why this podcast?

Good developer ideas don’t always need an hour. Sometimes you need a clear explanation, a practical starting point, or a small experiment that makes you want to open your editor.

That’s the idea behind TSJDEV Apps Podcast. Each short episode explores something useful from my projects, technical writing, or experiments. Most are around two minutes long, with room for a topic to take the time it needs.

Expect .NET and cross-platform development, cloud workflows, AI, open source, and lessons from building real software. Every published episode has a dedicated page with show notes, a transcript, and relevant resources.

More ideas, in two languages

I publish tutorials and technical articles in German on TSJDEV Apps (opens in a new tab) , and share English-language articles on Medium (opens in a new tab) . The podcast brings ideas from that writing to an international developer audience.

You can also find my open-source projects on GitHub (opens in a new tab) .
